By Fernanda Lopez Halvorson, County of San Diego Communications Office

Today, the County, City of Vista and non-profit, Community HousingWorks celebrated the opening of Paseo Artist Village, a new mixed use affordable housing development. The 60 unit apartment complex, in Vista’s downtown on the corner of South Santa Fe Avenue and Guajome Street, will welcome Vista residents, artists and veterans earning 30% to 59% of the area median income.

The development, which has a focus on art and culture, includes an artist workspace and gallery among other amenities. Funding for the project was made possible in part by the County’s Innovative Housing Trust Fund.
