YMCA Youth & Family Services, North County Lifeline & San Diego Youth Homelessness Consortium (SDYHC) invites the community to join us, in honor of Runaway & Homeless youth awareness month, for a walk, resource fair, and rally.
Schedule of Events:
· 11:00am: Partners arrive & set up tables.
– Sign in with Charity at the “PARTNERS SIGN IN” Table.
· 12:00pm: Resource Fair Begins.
– Food and sign-making available for all in attendance.
· 1:00pm: Awareness Walk Begins
– TAY Escondido (1050 N Broadway) à Escondido City Hall (201 N Broadway) 0.9 miles
· 2:00pm: Rally Begins at Escondido City Hall
– Guest Speakers, Youth Testimonies, Proclamations
· 3:00pm(-ish): Arrive back to TAY Escondido & clean up
Event Details:
Meet at YMCA Transitional Age Youth (TAY) Academy at 12:00 pm for a resource fair, food, and sign making
Walk to Escondido City Hall at 1:00 PM. Route is approximately 1.1 miles
*Please wear green, dress comfortably, and have walking shoes
*Community partners: please contact Charity Brant at cbrant@ymcasd.org if you would like to participate in the resource fair*

Important Notes:
– Click here to register yourself and any others that may join from your agency/program.
– A head count will be needed for lunch-planning.
BRING your own table & materials.
– We can provide chairs and we have a couple spare tables if your agency doesn’t have one—request from Charity, in advance, if needed.
– Also bring your own informational materials for your programs/agencies, giveaways/swag, and canopies if you wish (there is limited shade).
– A partner “SIGN IN TABLE” will be set up in the entrance to the parking lot where things will be happening. Look for me there!
WEAR green!
-Green is the official color for Runaway and Homeless Youth Awareness. If you wish to, come dressed in green for solidarity.
WEAR comfy shoes.
– We encourage everyone to join us for the awareness walk from TAY Escondido to City Hall.
– It is less than 1 mile there, but still dress comfortably!
LEARN about what else we are doing during RHY month of November…
– …Including a Solidarity Journey where staff will be doing a 3-day journey from Oceanside to San Ysidro between November 8th and November 10th to bring awareness to what many of our young people have to do when experiencing homelessness.
