More than a dozen people have been arrested as part of “Operation Clean Corridor” in San Marcos.
In May 2026, San Marcos saw an increase in criminal activity which included theft-related offenses and illegal narcotics possession and sales.
In response to these concerns, deputies from the Sheriff’s Narcotics and Gangs Division (SNGD) and Sheriff’s Gang Enforcement Team (GET), as well as the Sheriff’s Community Oriented Policing and Problem Solving (COPPS) Team and detectives from the San Marcos Sheriff’s Station, coordinated enforcement efforts focused on disrupting the increased criminal activity.
From June through August 2026, these Sheriff’s teams, along with patrol deputies, collaboratively and proactively conducted investigations focused on reducing criminal activity in San Marcos. During narcotic-related investigations, five individuals were identified as being in possession of controlled substances for sale. Four of those individuals have been located and arrested after search warrants were obtained and served.
On August 26 and August 27, deputies conducted a proactive enforcement operation throughout San Marcos that targeted criminal offenders identified in this operation. The two-day operation resulted in the arrest of nine individuals on various charges including active arrest warrants and narcotics-related violations.
In all, 13 people were arrested between June and August 2026 as a result of these coordinated enforcement efforts during “Operation Clean Corridor.”
