Sand Nourishment & Retention Pilot Project

The City Council approved Phase 2 of the Sand Nourishment and Retention Pilot Project on January 25. Phase 2 involves the development of a sand nourishment program, looking offshore for improved sand sources, and the design of a pilot sand retention project. The sand retention project seeks to invite innovation through a design competition, attracting new ideas and expertise to address our coastal erosion issue. The project kicks off this month, beginning with the development of a community outreach program and establishment of the design competition criteria.
