On the evening of Monday, October 4, a large storm moved through Escondido bringing thunder, lightning and rain. The Fire Department responded to 15 calls related to the weather in a little over an hour, including a 1/2-acre vegetation fire in the area of La Honda Drive and Vintage Place. This photo was taken at Fire Station #1 during the storm (Quince).
On October 7, a crew of four firefighters deployed to the KNP Complex Wildfire in the Sequoia National Park to relieve a crew on Station #3’s Brush Engine that has been assigned to this fire for several weeks.
On October 8, firefighters attended the start of the annual Grape Day 5K race and proudly flew a large American flag atop the Ladder
