VISTA — Opportunities abound as the City Council reviewed the 2026-29 Vista Economic Development Strategy during its meeting on Tuesday.
The plan is a roadmap to guide business growth, revitalization, tourism, workforce development and strategic partnerships. The council, though, discussed several areas at length, especially tourism and hospitality, the brewing industry, manufacturing and Opportunity Areas.
The new strategy highlights a fundamental shift from traditional economic development toward a place-based growth model combining manufacturing and industrial retention, downtown and entertainment activation, mixed-use redevelopment, workforce mobility, expanding tourism and regional collaboration.
