Oceanside, CA – Write On, Oceanside! is an annual literary festival hosted by Oceanside Public Library and Oceanside Cultural Arts Foundation with the goal of celebrating, showcasing, and inspiring local authors. This year’s 17th Annual Write On, Oceanside celebration will take place on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Civic Center Library Plaza, Courtyard and Community Rooms, located at 330 North Coast Highway.
The event will feature over 25 local authors with books available for purchase and signing, an introduction by the Oceanside Poet Laureate, Karla Cordero, author readings by high school drama students, spoken word poetry with Glassless Minds, and craft activities for kids.
Additionally, two free workshops at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. will be offered in the Civic Center Library Community Rooms:
• At 10:30 a.m., all are invited to “Journey to Publication” to learn about various paths and opportunities for publishing, with panelists Leann Garms, Richard Carrico, and Robert O’Sullivan, who are local leaders in the writing and publishing industry.
• At 12:30 p.m., all are invited to the “Benefits of a Writer’s Group.” Writers traditionally learn best from other writers. Bring your work to share with fellow writers, and get feedback and ideas. Moderated by Writers’ Group leaders Charles Braithwaite and Leslie Clark.
Author readings and spoken word will take place between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m., and winners of the six-word story contest will be announced at 1:30 p.m.
