Dr. Myeshia Whigham 2026 NAACP Woman of the Year

Eleanor Evans 2026 Medgar Wiley Evers Legacy Award
Educator, school board trustee, and advocate Eleanor Evans received the prestigious 2026 Medgar Wiley Evers Legacy Award honoring a lifetime of courageous leadership and civil rights service. As a young student leader and co-chair of the Student Congress of Racial Equality (CORE), Evans marched for fair employment practices and Black student inclusion. Throughout her career as an educator and trustee, she has consistently challenged inequity, strengthened education, and uplifted underserved communities.
