A baby’s needs don’t stop when money runs out. As the cost of basic essentials continues to rise, many military parents are feeling the financial strain. At Camp Pendleton, baby wipes and diapers are in need. More than two thousand families on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton have children under 5-years old.
To lighten the load, The Village Veterans of Ocean Hills Country Club is launching a major diaper drive called “OPERATION DRY SHIELD.” From July 20th through August 7th, San Diego residents, retail stores, and anyone willing to help are encouraged to donate diapers and wipes. All diaper brands and sizes, from infant to toddler 6, are needed.
Ocean Hills is home to generations of warfighters who continue their service by supporting those who serve today. Members of its Village Veterans Club are turning their garages and living rooms into collection hubs. This year, Operation Dry Shield aims to collect up to 5,000 boxes of diapers and wipes.
All donations will be delivered to Camp Pendleton’s Armed Services YMCA.
