Career Technical Education Showcase was Held at Vista’s Film Hub

Thursday February 29th marked Vista Unified School District’s Film Hub department’s student showcase at Vista’s Film Hub. The event wrapped up National CTE month, and gave student interns a chance to present their developed skills in career-based fields.

Student projects, awards, and demonstrations were found at different stations from all three Vista high schools. Mission Vista, Rancho Buena Vista, and Vista High School represented their school and internship through eye-catching work. Various stations included welding, construction, medical care, TV/film, photography, culinary arts, automotive technology, computer engineering, agricultural sciences, graphic design, and stage technology.

Demonstrations of first responder techniques, student-coded video games, real-time welding, and crepe samples from culinary art students were enjoyed by parents, teachers, and district officials. Here are some features of our hard-working Vista interns:

RBV Patient Care:
Patient Care students explore healthcare careers with a focus on professional norms, skills, and competencies. This course integrates concepts from social science, biology, mathematics, and physical science based on academic and career standards.

It is through programs such as Career Technical Education courses where students gain insights into real operations of industries they want to pursue. Before stepping into the years after high school, students are able to assess their suitability for future careers. Interacting with professionals in these fields during internships offers valuable mentorship opportunities and networking possibilities, enhancing students’ preparation and connections for what they may choose for their future. This bridge between academic studies and the practical demands of the future would not be possible without every teacher, parent, administrator, and an ever-improving district empowering students to make informed decisions about their futures.
