To celebrate the issuance of the International Peace stamp, the Peace Crane Project and VistaOrigamiGuy are inviting individuals, family, friends, classrooms, and community groups everywhere to fold a crane, write a message of intention of peace, hope, love, or joy, and share it with another. A simple act. A real feeling. To create a connection to bring each of us and the world closer together.
The U.S. Postal Service will issue an International Peace stamp featuring an origami peace crane on May 27, 2026, at the Boston World Exposition. The origami crane was folded by Peace Crane Project founder Sue DiCicco.

Based in Santa Barbara, the Peace Crane Project is a global nonprofit founded in 2012 that connects individuals and communities through the folding and exchanging origami cranes. The Project encourages the sharing of cranes with positive messages of peace and hope, to foster increased empathy and understanding.
The Peace Crane Project draws inspiration from the story of Sadako Sasaki, a young victim of the Hiroshima atomic bombing, who made paper cranes a symbol of hope and peace. The most famous quote attributed to Sadako Sasaki regarding her peace cranes is: “I will write peace on your wings and you will fly all over the world”.

To all, Peace-Love-Hope-Joy. Let your thoughts and wishes take flight.
